Making room for new beginnings; creating conscious space for good design
Synopsis/Goals Articulation

Prologue
Currently my life involves considerable juggling and struggling.
· Juggling time, energy and resources among several ongoing projects and significant and meaningful life commitments.
· Struggling; to attain a natural rhythm or work flow that releases rather than confines, and to manage my time more effectively.
However, the problem can become the solution. I am the problem, I am the solution!
Intentions
Considerations
Time – Will have to be well managed. With two separate homes and gardens to renovate to a stage whereupon they will become assets, a full time job, and a three-month-old son, some may say that I do not have time to undertake a Diploma in permaculture design. My answer is that there is no time to delay my journey through Permaculture Design any further! By stacking functions through time I will establish an effective working system that will reach a stage of equilibrium at around the same time as my accreditation.
Resources – Will also have to be well managed. Integration wherever possible will increase resources on many levels. As some projects near completion, they can be combined. Such integration will further increase their value. This value can then be utilised to move closer towards a stage where destructive systems are not supported and an ecosystemic state of being is in place, where I can be of maximum benefit to the greatest number of beings with the least amount of effort.
Learning – or (un)learning is fundamental to my journey through permaculture design. The main structure of Output 1 of my Diploma is all about identifying the most fertile of my edges, observing patterns of learning from my past, and applying the most productive learning patterns into my perceived projection of my Diploma Journey, what I hope to achieve and how I plan to make progress.
My Vision is to be able to leave something of true value for my son.
Something of true value.
Not a bank account full of meaningless valueless decimal figures, or more paper to buy baubles and trinkets with, encouraging the furtherance of acquiring more paper by either profiting from or working for another fellow human being with which to buy more baubles and trinkets. I do not want my son to confuse so temporary, fragile and meaningless a reality for the meaning of life. I wish to leave him something of genuine value;
The first output for my Diploma in Permaculture Design is Structured as follows;
Life Review - An opportunity to remember, reflect, and identify productive and non-productive learning patterns.
Action Learning Pathway - Looking into the future, planning how I am going to learn, where, what, when and who with. Teaching myself how to learn!
Skills flex - Mapping my current skills, identifying areas that need developing and recording intentions and completely new skills that I need to explore to achieve my Diploma in Permaculture Design.

- Access to land that produces an abundance of food; replenishable building materials and fuel.
- Access to land at which energy can be caught and stored, in harmony with nature, where nature will, if permitted, work for my son and provide a surplus of resources for him and those around him to fulfil all of their needs.
- Access to land that will enable my son to spend his life learning new skills, empowering himself and all those around him with all the encompassing knowledge that a genuine connection with nature so generously provides to be able to live a fulfilled life integrated into the landscape.
- Access to land that by it’s very nature encourages and promotes true community.
- Access to celebration and ritual.
- Access to land that immerses all that inhabit or visit it amongst the greatest educational resource available, not institutionalised “learning” of minimal benefit to mankind or any other species for that matter but genuine applied and holistic learning or more accurately, unlearning as nature intended, and if unhindered has always provided and always will provide.
- Access to, in the words of Geoff Lawton; “The great diversity that is Nature’s University.”
